An exciting new series for children learning American English. It is a three-level course for children aged 3–6 years old, uniquely set alongside the highly engaging world of beloved characters from the Nickelodeon television series Dora the Explorer: Dora, Boots, and their families and friends. Dora’s infectious sense of adventure, will engage and excite children as they start their own language-learning adventure.
The course builds confidence in listening and speaking and promotes a ‘can-do’ attitude with songs, stories, projects, and plays. It also develops the reading, writing and print awareness skills needed for a seamless transition to primary school with the Phonics and Literacy strand. Parents can have evidence of learning and support them to make a difference in their child’s learning journey with letters, fun home-learning activities in the Parent’s Guide, and the Reading Stars Graded Reader series. SB includes 10 core units, 4 review lessons, and a page of ‘We did it!’ stickers. Songs bring the classroom to life and introduce new vocabulary and language structures. Students will experience the fun and excitement of Dora the Explorer with the animated story videos.
The Lesson 1 videos introduce children to the new vocabulary of the unit and the story, presented by a storyteller. Projects at the end of every unit prompt students to put the language they have learned into practice. Self assessment activities allow for students to measure their own progress and ‘We did it!’ stickers allow them to celebrate their achievements.
